What we now call the “Junction” was EBC’s second sanctuary and dedicated in January 1966. Behind the pulpit, which is where the stage is now, there were windows in the top section, providing a wonderful view of God’s creation.

EBC's official starting date was August 7, 1960. The first building Edgewood owned, in which the first public meetings were held, was called a "panelbuild" and was affectionately referred to thereafter, as the "loop-de-loop." This was located where the present sanctuary sits and was torn down when construction began.

EBC officially became part of the Columbia Baptist Conference on April 10, 1961. Roy Berquist was called as full time pastor and began his ministry in 1962.
Moments in EBC History

Between 1966 and 1968, EBC acquired three different properties adjacent to the church; Saterlee, Duncan and
Knudson. This enabled us to have over 500 feet of frontage on 76th Avenue West.

EBC’s first secretary began part time in 1971.

EBC’s first missionary family left for Aruba in 1972. A second missionary couple left for Japan in 1974.
