Edgewood has ministries at 2 care centers located near the church and it is truly a joy and blessing to reach out to those so often forgotten in our community. If you have a desire to minister to people who are confined due to age or illness, we would love to tell you more about it.

This class for women starts September 12th at 11:00 AM in Room #37.


Materials cost $6.50 and can be paid to the church office.

Focus on the Family, Chuck Colson and others from Evangelical, Orthodox and Catholic backgrounds are encouraging people to consider signing the Manhattan Declaration which essentially affirms:

SHARE THE CARE


We are launching a new ministry here at Edgewood that will be an organized group of volunteer helpers to come to the side of folks in our congregation who may need assistance with transportation to church or to doctor appointments, with meals after a surgery, with housework and/or yard work for the disabled, or simply someone to visit with them when they are feeling lonely or isolated.


All the "care giving" needs tend to fall upon one or two family members or friends, often resulting in caregiver burnout, isolation of those in need of care, and some of our brothers and sisters lacking adequate support.


This ministry will pool the desires and God given gifts of volunteers to help lower the stress level of folks in need, to ease the pressure on family caregivers and to help those without family nearby.

Do you like to fix things? Do you like to garden or landscape or paint?  The property committee could use your help! There are many items that need attention around our building and grounds, to help keep Edgewood looking good and running well.  Please prayerfully consider how you might contribute to this vital ministry.

Lake Retreat has invited Senior Adults for a luncheon on Wednesday, September 15th at noon. The cost is $10, to be paid at the camp. Carpooling is suggested. Please indicate on the sign up sheet in the foyer if you would have room to take someone with you. Thank you.
